General Charachtristics:

“Emaddeh” village is the capital of “Sahraye bagh” which it self is on of the parts of “Larestan” county in the “Fars” state. From the situation view point, it is in 27 27 ob degree of Northen latitude and 53 53 31 of eastern longitude. In case of general situation it is in the Sou’wester of “Sahraye bagh” plain and also is in the vicinity of northen skirt of “Gavbast” height of south “zagros” mountain. This mountain is the boundary of “Fars” and “Hormozgan” states. “Emaddeh” village. (the capital of Emaddeh raral district) is the capital of “Sahraye bagh” part which was established in 1384, by abruption of “Emaddeh” rural district of “Byiram” part of “Bagh” rural district of central part of “Lar” and “Dideban” village of “Gerash” part. It’s distance from county’s capital (“Lar”) is approximately 100 kilometer and from state’s capital (“Shiraz”) is 475 Kilometer.

Historical background:
From the establishing time of “Emaddeh” village, which is called (“maideh”) in provincialism, there is no accurate information, and we can generally divide the village’s historical background, in to two period:

The first period: Before Islam: This village was formerly called “estas” or “astas”, and even now there exist some of the ruins of this ancient village in the 25 km of the west of the present village on the otherhand, if we accept that the habitants of the Great ancient “Benvoo” care which is in the heart of the “Gavbast” mountain, is south of the village, had some communications with the village’s people, and also some other reasons, then we can imagine a lengthier history for estas. And moreover it could be claimed that As for the evidence it seems that this village had a special revivification and flourishing in this period.

The second period: After Islam: About this period it could be claimed that, some of the habitants of the ancient estas, had accepted Islam, by the time this religion entered the “Larestan” area, and they became Moslem and, some other group, including the pagans of “Bonvoo” had left the place and setteled in some other places. In these periods, entering the “Shah Seifollah ghattal” to this village, brought reclamation to village; which not only influenced the ancient estas of the “Larestan” part, but also totally effected the whole south of “Iran”; and since then, the name of “estas” changed into “Emaddeh” or “Emadodin” or “ Omdatol belad”.

As mentioned before, this village was formerly called “estas” and in case of this name changing process, (from estas to Emaddeh) there exist various quotations, which we mention two of them here:

1.	In the 7th century a scientist named “Sheikh emadodin Ansar” entered the village, and as he was the cause and origin of many services, the village’s name just changed into his name.
2.	In past, this village had enjoyed a remarkable progress and development and therefore, had covered many of the problems of the surrounding villages, in a case that lots of financial, living and economical issues of other villages were related to this village, and thus it’s name had changed to “Emaddeh” which means the base of all other villages.
Ofcourse, there exist other reasons in case of the other quotations, which unfortunately can not be mentioned here.

Monuments:
There exist several monument in this village, that some of them belong to before Islam and the other to after Islam period:
Before Islam monuments: These monuments are mainly in southern part of the village, in the heart of the “Gavbast” mountains, the other monuments are: the amazing care of “Barestoo”, “ghalat” castle, “Barstoo” chedav (which are some ancient tombs), and the different living places of the inhabitants of the area and also the ruins of the “estas” village which is in the west of the recent village.
Islam’s period’s monuments:/-the tomb of “Shah Seifollah ghattal” which was built in 17th century and war rebuilt many times after that and is placed in the west of the village.
-The tomb of ‘Sheikh Saleh” which is in the west of the village, and is said to be one of the Grandee, who entered the area before “Shah ghattal”./
-“Khahar e kaka” which is a tomb belonging to a good woman who died approximately 40 years before coming of “Shah ghattal” to the area, and it is in the west side of the village.
/-A hill which is known as “tonb shahrestoo” and is placed in the west of the village. It was named so maybe because once the place had enjoyed special revivification, and it was as the trading market of that time, and was known as “Shahrestan”; now there are just some ruins left from all those things./-the ancient bath houses, which were by the “tonb shahrestoo” and they belong to Islam’s period, and of course, regarding their vasitity, some believe that they were once caravansary./-The ancient water mill which is know as the ruined mill./
the Natural situation:/ 1. The “Emaddeh” village is in the Sou’wester of the “Sahraye bagh” plain, in the northeru skirt of the “Gavbast” mountains. This plain is made of the Zagros’s wrinkles in north and south. The surrounding heights of the plain is made of limestone, and in the edge of the heights we can see plaster. And these stones specify a vast area to themselves, which as a result of granulation and sand stones are attached together, and enjoy a remarkable permeability. In the southern part of the village, as a result of expanding the sediments of the projective cones, which are the fine Alluvial sediments, the underground water situation is suitable, and these days it is source of drinking water for the village residents./ The alluvial thickness is more than 80 m in this place, and it reduce toward the north. In case of the surface water stream, in the infiltration area, there is ravine known as “tange ghalat” ravine, which passed by the village from south to north./ The latrine area of this ravine is on the heights of the “Gavbast’./ In the case of the Herbal and vegetive coverage of the area, there exist some medical herbal such as “camel’s thorn”, “derafteh”, wild almond, wild fig, and root, and also in the plain part we can see a desert planting covering./ In the case of the continental situation, we can say that, the village has a dry cliamate and also warm and dry cliamate in summers. Generally we can claim, that, as other warm and dry area, this village has approximately two seasons; one is the long warm and hot summer and the other is the short cold winter. The average of the annual rainfall is about 200-250 mm, (except in the drought seasons). The average of the annual temperature, based on the statistics of the “Lar” station is ~ 23.7ºC; the masximum average is 29.2ºC; the absolute annual is 45,bºC; and the minimum and the desired minimum are 15.4 and 19ºC respectedly./ In the case of the relative humidity, the maximum relative humidity which belongs to “dey” is bo,3, and the minimum which belongs to “Khordad” is 37,2.
In the case of the puff’s direction, the directions are mostly westeren-eastern in winter and southern-western in the hot seasons and specially in summers./ The social condition:/ 1. Because of the tomb of “emamzadeh shah seifollah ghattal”, being an important trading center in the past, enjoying from lots of water resources, and springs, and subterranean this village was a place for tribes migaration and living from far and close; and recently different tribes such as (children of Shah Seifollah ghattal who was amount the gran sons of Imam Moosa Kazem, himself; the servant and the clergymen who were with him in the trip toward Iran, The “Harmians” (who emigrated from the “Harm” village, and “baghi” and … the turk’s tribes such as “Lor” and “nafar” and the “Minabi” emigrants, live in this village. The language of the residents is the “Larian” language with a special “Emmaddehian” dialect. The religion of the people is Islam and their denomination is “Shié”, except for about 35% of them who are “Lor” and “nafar” and “Shafeii Sunnite”, and also the religion of people of “Lor” and “nafar”.
